Retinoid + BHA

Keep them apart

Keep them apart. A retinoid plus a BHA (salicylic acid) in the same session can over-exfoliate and sting, especially if your skin is already dry or reactive.

Both earn their place - retinoid for cell turnover, BHA for pores - so split them instead of dropping one. Alternate nights, or BHA in the morning and retinoid at night.

Watch the hidden duplicates: salicylic acid shows up in cleansers, toners, and spot treatments, so you can stack this pair without meaning to. Rinse-off products are gentler on contact time, but a leave-on BHA plus a retinoid is the combination to schedule.

Patch-test, introduce one at a time, and moisturize - a supported barrier tolerates actives far better.
