PHA + retinoid

Be a bit careful

Be a bit careful. PHAs (gluconolactone, lactobionic acid) are the gentlest acids - bigger molecules, slower penetration, less sting. But stacking any exfoliating acid with a retinoid can still over-do it on reactive skin.

Most skin tolerates this combo fine. If yours is sensitive, alternate nights or move the PHA to the morning and keep the retinoid at night.

If acids have burned you before, PHA is often the way back in - just let it be the only new thing you add that month, and patch-test.
